Genai Teachable Machine platform - introduced by Finnish Researchers
How we might teach about AI in schools has not yet been decided. But there is increasing pressure on teachers, particularly in secondary schools and computing classrooms, to address this.
Research is starting to be done, and from this, tools are being developed. What content to be taught is being figured out, and what pedagogy might be most useful is being considered.
At the Raspberry Pi Foundation, the Research Team conducts its own research on this, while sharing other groups' research with the community through online research seminars. This year, our seminar series is on teaching about AI and data science.
This month, on Tuesday, 13th May, Henriikka Vartiainen and Matti Tedre (University of Eastern Finland) will introduce ‘Genai Teachable Machine’. This educational platform is designed for students aged 10–16 to explore core AI concepts through practical, hands-on applications. The talk describes the educational theory, pedagogical strategies, and classroom resources developed to support teachers.
This is our fifth seminar session in our teaching about AI and Data Science in K-12 2025 series.
Start time is Tuesday, 13th May at 17:00–18:30 GMT / 12:00–13:30 ET / 9:00–10:30 PT / 18:00–19:30 CET.
Please do come along.
