Bring the Global AI Techathon 2027 to young people in your community and schools
Teens in AI is inviting educators and community leaders to join us as Local Ambassadors for the Global AI Techathon 2027.
Running from January to April 2027, the Global AI Techathon brings together young people aged 13–18 from around the world to explore AI, develop practical skills and create solutions to real-world challenges.
As a Local Ambassador, you’ll bring the programme to young people in your community by organising and facilitating a Local AI Design Sprint during February 2027. Participants will work in teams to explore a challenge, develop their ideas and build solutions, supported by mentors and the wider Teens in AI programme. Teens in AI provides Local Ambassadors with the programme framework, training, resources and ongoing support needed to deliver the experience locally. This could be a great opportunity for computing educators who want to give young people a practical, collaborative way to explore AI beyond the classroom and apply their skills to real-world challenges. Free online capture-the-flag competition for years 6–14.
The Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birminghamm USA is hosting a free online capture-the-flag competition for school pupils, including those in the UK.
Students can register and take the test through November 5, 2026.
Registration remains open throughout the competition window.
Each student chooses a one-hour supervised session. A teacher can proctor, and a trusted adult mentor or parent may supervise a club or community team by prior arrangement.
No programming experience is needed: there are beginner-friendly logic questions alongside more challenging programming, debugging, and cybersecurity problems.
Registration is free and takes less than a minute for the student, and the proctor’s confirmation also takes less than a minute. After a student registers, we send the proctor a confirmation link and that student’s individual test code.
