This online network simulator allows for exploration of key networking concepts:
AQA A Level CS: Advanced LAN & TCP/IP Simulator
It is mainly designed for A Level because it demonstrates a range of features including:
- TCP/IP protocol stack
- Switches & Hubs
- Wireless connections (inc. encryption & SSID broadcast disabling)
- Routing
- Network Address Translation
- DNS
- DHCP
- Client Server architecture
- HTTP web server
- SSH/Telnet
However using it in a simpler form e.g. just to request a webpage from a local web server and packet inspection, it is also suitable for GCSE material concepts.
