Gorilla Hack Academy is an interactive cyber-security themed learning environment designed to get students excited about computing.

Students enter a fictional digital training academy where they complete “missions” linked to hacking, codebreaking and web development. The activities are designed to feel fun and engaging while still building real computing knowledge and problem-solving skills.

The resource is ideal for:

  • KS3 Computer Science lessons
  • Coding clubs
  • Cyber security enrichment
  • STEM clubs or activity days
  • End-of-term lessons
  • Cover work
  • Students who enjoy puzzles, secrets, missions and challenges

Students can explore tasks involving:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Encryption and codebreaking
  • Cyber security ideas
  • Logical thinking
  • Problem solving
  • Web-based challenges

The aim is to make students feel like trainee cyber agents while secretly getting them to practise important computing skills.

This is especially useful for engaging reluctant learners, encouraging independent exploration, and giving students something different from a standard worksheet or textbook task.
