In this series of worksheets (or possible homework sheets) are sets of problems that are solved by writing or interpreting SQL instructions. Students must either predict the output of SQL instructions or calculate the SQL that must have been used to produce some given output from a database.

Set 1 includes an explanation of the uses of SEARCH, FROM and WHERE functions followed by 5 pages of questions.

Set 2 included an explanation of the use of INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE followed by 5 pages of questions.

Set 3 includes an explanation of the use of DISTINCT, AS, ORDER and GROUP to produce formatted output.

Set 4 will follow next session as I'm now onto finishing a Scratch resource.

This style of learning is very well received by students who "love solving the problems".

I usually write commercially now but have decided to give these away for free. If you do wish to contribute to the 5 or 6 hours it takes to create each one they cost $2 each on TeachersPayTeacher.com
