(Y5 or Y4 Primary Computing (Computer Science) Scratch Programming Scheme of Work KS2
I have been teaching Scratch in my primary school for several years. This is our current Scheme of Work for our Year 4 pupils. This module includes variables, loops, operators etc. therefore it is also suitable for Year 5. You will have to edit the word documents from Year 4 to Year 5.
The Scratch Scheme of Work lasts a term.
Term 1) During the first half term, pupils learn Scratch Programming skills over a period of 6 consecutive lessons. Term 2) During the second half term, pupils apply their knowledge by creating their own projects in Scratch. Their aim is to earn as many Scratch badges as possible.
Pupil Folder- The pupils folder contains a computer worksheet divided into 6 tasks. Each task has a corresponding video. The teacher can demonstrate the videos to the class or the pupils can watch the videos independently. The pupil folder Y4L7 also contains Scratch badges which are awarded by Peer assessment or a self assessment sheet
Teacher Folder This contains all the lesson plans and assessment sheets.
