GCSE/Key Stage 4 OCR A451 Systems, OCR A452 Investigation, OCR A453 Coding

This is a long term plan that I will be using for our GCSE Computing class.

The scheme of work has two options, we teach our GCSEs in five lessons a week, but have also just started a two year option with three lessons a week. We start our new timetable as soon as year 11 leave (i.e. today!), which gives us a four week block before Summer, plus a week of "International activities". We allow students to reconsider their options during this time, so I go in deliberately hard to whittle down the numbers and get rid of the ones who think its just going to be playing games.

Basically, we cover the spec at least once in each year. Last year I managed to cover most topics three times in the five lesson option.

I do one lesson a week on programming, Im focusing on techniques, which will reference the specification as we cover them. I'm going to use BBC basic, Scratch and Python to show how you do the same thing in different languages.

You will also see that the scheme is colour coded against the OCR specification - mainly for my own use so I dont have to open a second document when creating resources. The spreadsheet has some conditional formatting that shows you whereabouts in the year you are at
