Research work with Scratch in Primary Education

My PhD research focuses on introducing children in Primary Education to Scratch through game making.

This paper focuses on my work with 3 classes in the one primary school and the games that were made as part of the research. It was presented at the 6th European conference on Games-based Learning October 2012. From previous work the children had given feedback that they enjoyed the Scratch card idea and so the first few lessons were planned accordingly. They were shown how to create the basic maze game and add in a timer/scoring. After the first four lessons they were then able to adapt the maze game or create a new game.
