Results of survey of CPD needs

A few months ago I carried out a survey of the sort of CPD survey needed by teachers and what the constraints were. I have had 86 responses and the results are summarised in the document attached. Thanks very much to everyone who contributed. I hope that anybody who wants to put on CPD will find this useful.

Obviously teachers have different CPD needs and constraints in this subject area, but it would be ideal if more time out of school was available for upskilling in Computer Science and this is the main message coming across in the written comments. The recent developments in CAS with the Network of Excellence should mean that a variety of approaches to CPD are available, from training to mentoring to networking etc. CAS, and individual members of CAS, are trying to meet the identified needs for varying approaches to CPD that are effective and long-lasting.

I am speaking on this topic at a conference in Germany in February, together with Mark Dorling and Adam McNicol. The full paper will be available after the end of February.
