Free Webinars for Teachers: Bringing Quantum Computing into STEM Education

As quantum technologies continue to gain importance, many educators are looking for ways to introduce quantum computing concepts in an age-appropriate and accessible way. Through the European project Quantum Computing in STEM Education, Science on Stage teachers have developed classroom-tested teaching materials that use simulations, hands-on activities and interactive tools to explore concepts such as superposition, entanglement, quantum circuits and quantum algorithms.

Three English-language webinars will be offered:

• 14 October 2026 | The Supremacy of Quantum Algorithms, focusing on search algorithms and their advantages in quantum computing.
• 17 November 2026 | Basics of Quantum Physics & Quantum Bomb Detection, introducing key concepts of quantum mechanics through the famous quantum bomb-testing thought experiment.
• 10 February 2027 | From Bits to Quantum Leaps – The Quantum Machine, introducing interactive simulations for concepts such as superposition, entanglement and quantum circuits.

In addition, Science on Stage Germany offers two webinars in German:

• 8 October 2026 | Quantencomputing im MINT-Unterricht – Qubits, Quantengatter und Quantenschaltkreise, introducing core concepts of quantum computing and how students can develop their own applications using Qiskit.
• 5 November 2026 | Einfacher Einstieg ins Quantencomputing im Unterricht,  introducing the interactive quantum machine for concepts such as superposition, entanglement and quantum circuits.

All webinars are free of charge and are based on open, classroom-tested teaching materials Quantum Computing in STEM Education developed within the European Science on Stage network. Whether teachers are preparing an activity for regular lessons, project weeks or extracurricular activities while looking to introduce emerging technologies into their STEM lessons, the webinars provide practical ideas, materials and confidence to get started.
