Leadership Update: Exams, Ofsted & Evolving Practice
Thematic Community
Face to Face
This leadership session brings together Secondary Computing leaders to reflect, review and refine key priorities as we prepare for the next academic year.
We will begin with a focused discussion on Ofsted inspections in Computing, sharing recent experiences, key insights, and what strong practice looks like in the current inspection landscape.
This will be followed by a collaborative review of the annual year 7 survey, where we will evaluate this year’s questions and agree improvements to ensure more meaningful feedback from September.
The session will also provide an opportunity to reflect on Year 11 mock papers created by the community, analysing what worked well and identifying changes to strengthen outcomes for the next academic year. Alongside this, we will debrief the Summer 2026 GCSE and A-level papers, exploring trends, challenges, and implications for curriculum planning and exam preparation.
Finally, we will look ahead to teaching and learning in Computing, considering how pedagogy continues to evolve. In particular, we will explore the impact of approaches such as PRIMM and discuss how these strategies are shaping classroom practice.
This is a practical, reflective session designed to support leaders in making informed, strategic decisions to strengthen Computing provision across their schools.
