Coding Made Easy: AQA’s Python on VS Code Resources
Thematic Community
Online
Join us for an interactive webinar showcasing a brand-new suite of Python coding lessons, developed in collaboration with Alan Harrison for the VS Code for Education platform.
These lessons are designed to make Python coding more accessible and engaging for students, while giving teachers a ready-to-use resource that integrates seamlessly with a modern, professional coding environment.
In this session, we’ll:
✅ Walk you through the first set of lessons, highlighting key features and teaching approaches
✅ Demonstrate how VS Code for Education supports learning and reduces classroom setup challenges
✅ Share how these resources align with AQA’s specifications and how they can fit into your teaching
✅ Gather your feedback to help shape the next stages of lesson development
You’ll see practical, in-browser examples, explore how students can code in a distraction-free, beginner-friendly interface, and discuss how you can start using these lessons in your own teaching.
Who should attend?
This webinar is ideal for GCSE Computer Science teachers, particularly those delivering AQA specifications, but is also open to teachers from non-AQA centres who are interested in exploring the lessons. Please note: the initial release will be available to AQA centres first.
