Computing Education Research Seminars - Literacy and CS.
Thematic Community
Online
Are you interested in how we teach computing to school-aged learners?
We run a monthly online seminar on the 1st Tuesday of each month that presents international research on computing education.
At each seminar, a computing education researcher presents their work, in non-academic terms, and then we have breakout room discussions about what the research means for our work e.g. in our classrooms, at code clubs we run, for teacher professional development, for policy making, for funding of research, etc. To see what we tweet about see here #RPFSeminars https://twitter.com/search?q=%23rpfseminars&src=typed_query
The next seminar is on Tuesday 7th March at 5pm GMT and is about how we can teach computing in literacy lessons with Bobby Whyte. There is so little time to teach CS in schools - can we squeeze it into the essential teaching of reading and writing? For more about Bobby's research see here. https://www.raspberrypi.org/computing-education-research-online-seminars/#multimodal-storytelling
Each month a different researcher presents their work.
Much to discuss!

Please share with your colleagues and come along for a friendly community discussion about the teaching and learning of computer science.
