Create a game and learn coding using Roblox

Roblox studio provides an exciting opportunity for learners to explore game design and develop coding skills through structured lessons. An exploration of cross-curricula projects and collaborative learning are all facilitated within this gaming platform and educational resource. 

The workshop will introduce participants to Roblox Education learning resources and participate in a walk-through coding example lesson.

You will be introduced to the Roblox suite for classroom based and independent learning activities.

This workshop is suitable for KS3 teachers

Recommendation: participants are encouraged to set up an account on Roblox https://www.roblox.com/Login and complete the "What is Roblox" Training Experience prior to the workshop.

The workshop will be delivered by Moira Watson, a Lecturer (Education) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Moira is an educator with 30+ years’ experience teaching Computer Science and Software Engineering in Higher Education, Further Education and Schools. Her research focusses on pedagogic practices which promote active and deep learning within an online environment and project based, collaborative learning through the creation of meaningful and authentic learning opportunities for students. She is an Athena Swan champion and leads on initiatives within the school to support and transform gender equality.
