FIRST STEP CAREER CHALLENGE Year Groups (7-9, 8-10 Northern Ireland, S1-S3 Scotland

Can you help Lloyds Bank decide who can borrow £1,200 to buy the new iPhone 14?

Overview: The iPhone 14 is coming out this November, and we have had applications from customers who would like to borrow £1,200 from Lloyds Bank to purchase it. They all would like to borrow the money and pay it back in equal instalments over 1 year. Your task is to work out which people can afford this extra cost and who we can responsibly lend the money to.

First Step Challenge: We have a list of customers; the money they have coming in each month and the money they have going out each month and their current balance.

Can you work out from the dataset who can afford to borrow £1,200 from the bank to buy the new iPhone 14?

All our events are free to attend, hosted on MS Teams outside of school hours and assist in meeting Gatsby benchmarks 4 & 5.
