CAS Regional Community: East of England

Welcome to your CAS Regional Community!

Welcome to the landing page for the East of England Regional Community! Whether you have been the Subject Leader for Computing for a long time, or a very short time, we hope you will find this space a useful place to "bookmark" so you can find the support you need, when you need it.

Our meetings will aim to provide an informal space for sharing ideas and issues and to inspire you to try something new in your setting, so we hope you will hit the "Join Community" button now to receive updates on what we are up to.

What are you finding most challenging about the role of Computing Subject Lead at the moment? There might be someone on here who can share what's worked for them in the past, or who would love to work together with you to find a solution (or workaround!)

If you haven't heard about this conference, it is highly recommended  https://tbclc.co.uk/
We hope to run our own conference in early summer somewhere in the Cambridge Area. If this is something you'd be interested in, please do get in touch.

CyberFirst supports students from all backgrounds to consider a career in tech – including cyber security, AI, quantum computing, software, data and more. Over the next few months readers will notice an increase in the use of TechFirst as CyberFirst remit is expanded.

From April 2026, As CyberFirst schools and colleges migrates over to TechFirst, the programme will also be available in the East Midlands, East of England, London and the South East of England.

BCS Branches

As part of its commitment to building a strong professional community, BCS supports a network of regional member branches across the UK. These local groups provide opportunities for members to connect, share knowledge, and get involved in events and activities relevant to their area. Whether you're looking to expand your professional network, attend local talks and workshops, or contribute to the wider digital community, your nearest BCS branch is a great place to start. You can find more information and explore the full list of BCS member communities here.
