I am very keen for a meet with fellow computing leads. Particularly the preparing for ofsted part!
Hi Steve
I’ve just taken over the leadership of the Manchester CAS community. Thanks for your message, did you make any progress since posting that last year? I’m not currently working in a school full time so I wonder if anyone else in the community could help Steve?
I’m planning to get a meeting together, probably a hybrid in-person (at Man Met) and online meeting in June or early July. Let me know what you want to discuss, some ideas here:
-Preparing for Ofsted
-Pedagogy and curriculum, maybe we dive into “The Big Book of Pedagogy / Content” or my book
-NCCE offerings including the NCCE hubs, Isaac website and more
Let me know what you want from the community
Kind regards
Alan
Hi all,
We are being encouraged to arrange as many trips as possible to make up for lost time to Covid. I am currently setting up a team of Y5&6 children who will assist me in IT support in school, and the promotion of Computing as a subject. I was wondering if anyone could help me out? I was thinking a visit to a high school to see how the subject is taught higher up.
For example, in the past, I have been on trips to East Manchester Academy with Y6 to take part in science lessons in their labs. I was thinking something similar. It will give the children a chance to experience something which a primary school can’t offer.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Steve
