Bexley and Kent Primary UDL and AI Community
This community aims to bring together educators and leaders to explore how computing, AI, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can work in harmony to create inclusive, future-ready learning experiences.
Our objectives are to: Share and develop best practice in teaching computing through a UDL lens Explore the role of AI in enhancing accessibility, reducing teacher workload, and supporting pupil engagement Build a supportive professional network for collaboration, innovation, and reflective practice Promote equitable access to digital tools and computing education for all learners, particularly those with SEND or disadvantaged backgrounds Showcase and evaluate real-world classroom examples that align with national curriculum aims and emerging technologies
This community will serve as a space for practical discussion, research-informed dialogue, and shared learning across all primary phases. Both communities will predominantly meet separately, with some joint meetings.

In case you’ve not already seen it, I’ve created a UDL in Primary Computing resource that includes a number of computing-specific approaches and activities mapped to each guideline in the UDL framework. You can download it for free at Computing & Digital Innovation Centre | Resources | Learn Sheffield - hopefully it will be useful, any feedback welcome.
