Computing at School (CAS) is proudly supported by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. But what does that really mean for you?

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive in a digital world. Through Computing at School (CAS) and the wider BCS community we are working to make that vision a reality. Through this connection, we can offer even better support to CAS members, tapping into BCS’s extensive membership network.

What's more, it means that you, as a CAS member, can have your say on what matters. For example, the BCS response to the Department for Education's Curriculum and Assessment Review was shaped by valuable feedback from CAS members like you. Your voice matters and helps drive change!

Who are BCS?

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is the professional body for the people who work in tech. Our mission, set by Royal Charter, is to build a safe and bright digital future for everyone in society.

For this to happen we need a technology profession that’s ethical, accountable, diverse and innovative. We work with key partners and our global membership community to improve IT education and break down barriers, raise professional and ethical standards across industry, and support digital talent in all its forms.

As well as the awarding body for BCS professional certification and digital skills qualifications, we are also a leading assessment organisation for digital apprenticeships, and the regulatory body for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and Register for IT Technicians (RITTech) registration.
