AI in education: a practical starting point for teachers
AI is already shaping education, but many teachers are still unsure where to start. If you’re curious (or cautious) about AI, the new AI Confidence CPD modules could be a great first step.
Created by BCS, in partnership with The Hg Foundation, Microsoft and Cognizant, this free CPD is designed specifically for staff in schools and colleges. The first module, Getting Started with AI in Education, takes around 45–60 minutes and covers what AI really is, how common tools work, practical classroom uses, and key safety and ethical considerations. It also includes the opportunity to try out AI tools during the module.
The new second module, AI and the Future of Work, explores how AI is transforming the workplace, reshaping recruitment processes, and changing the skills employers value most. Designed for careers leads and advisers supporting students aged 14–18, it provides practical insights to help students feel informed, prepared, and confident about their future, with linked content that can be shared directly with students.
