Welcome to CAS Regional Centre North East

CAS North East is run by Newcastle University School of Computing Science. The regional centre is a natural extension of our existing work with CAS. CAS and teachers are at the heart of our schools outreach work and sustained engagement with the region's computing education community. In addition to the information on these pages we have an established CAS North East Web site with listing of CAS and CAS-related events in the region and other information for teachers.   • Introducing the BBC Micro:bit!

    During this session there will be an opportunity to look around the Micro:bit website where there are so many teaching resources including some great videos for how to get going – just what you need if you are doing the Y6 TeachComputing unit “Sensing”


Week of July 12

  • Jul 15 from 4:00PM to 5:00PM
  • CAS Newcastle Outer West Primary Community Meeting

    In this session we will look at the positive impact of Seesaw to support schools with remote learning and how Seesaw can be used to evidence children's work in computing and other subject areas within school.
