Ofqual is now consulting on arrangements for awarding grades for GCSE, AS and A levels this summer and on arrangements for a range of vocational and technical qualifications.
Its consultation, run jointly with the Department for Education, opened today and will remain open until 29 January.
Ofqual wants to hear from teachers, headteachers as well as parents and students who were due take exams this summer. In a statement on its website today the government has said; "Grades must reflect what a student knows, understands and can do, and they must be widely understood and respected. In place of exams in summer 2021 we propose that a student’s grade in a subject will be based on their teacher’s assessment of the standard at which they are performing."
We would urge all CAS members to take part and share their views via the government's consultation process. Details are available here for GCSEs, AS and A levels, and here for technical and vocational qualifications.
