EU Code Week takes place from the 5th to the 20th
October. The event encourages you teachers to setup a coding experience
in-school or outside of school and bring together the local community in a fun
and engaging way. This could be in the form of:
with your local primary and secondary schools
parents and grandparents to take part
out to your local charities and public spaces like libraries
teachers together at a local CAS Community of Practice
a day of it and arrange and host an event at a local business, University or
College and invite nearby schools
To take part in the event you only need a group of willing
learners – this could be two people, or it could be 200 people then you can
enter your activity on the EU Code Week map. It’s your event, share the
opportunity in whichever way you can.
Last year EU Code Week engaged 2.7 million people.
If you need an idea for an activity, why not take a look at the EU Code Resource page: https://codeweek.eu/resources
The CAS Community Outreach team are here to support you with EU code week and to answer queries. Some of our team members are EU code week ambassadors. The EU Code Week ambassadors provide resources, marketing material and links to industry, charities and schools so that teachers or volunteers can host their own coding experience for their local community between the 5th and the 20th October. They are here to spread the word of your fantastic coding event and provide celebration events at special EU Code Week venues.
