Barefoot is expanding in Northern Ireland with the appointment of a Community  ,Fiona Baxter.

Barefoot empowers primary teachers to delver computing brilliantly. The programme is expanding in NI to boost support for using the UICT curriculum, in computational thinking and coding and digital skills, with FREE CPD workshops, engaging cross currcular lessons and helpful online guides.

What's in it for the primary teacher?

  • Build teaching subject knowledge and confidence with an introductory workshop in computational thinking and/or a programmimg workshop in Scratch coding, delivered by trained Barefoot volunteers.
  • Easily feature computing in the weekly timetable with an extensive bank of educationally robust lessons and resources to teach computing alongside almost any subject including maths, science and literacy.
  • Support learning beyond the classroom through Barefoot home learning, which features both on and offline activities.
  • Barefoot is completely free, supporting you at every step to help prepare pupils for success in the digital world, with fun, fresh and time saving ideas that help fulfil the NI curriculum.
