Ferndown Upper School chosen to deliver T-Levels

Ferndown Upper School (FUS) in Dorset has been selected to deliver T-Level Digital: Digital Production, Design and Development.

Exclusively chosen by the Department of Education in Dorset, the new T-Level course will take digital education to the next level.

Specialist training will be supported by outstanding teaching, contact with local business and world-beating facilities. Students who undertake this course will be fully equipped for software developer roles in Dorset’s vibrant local digital sector. The students will qualify upon completion to embark on exciting roles such as:

  • Junior Developer
  • Junior Web Developer
  • Junior Application Developer
  • Junior Programmer
  • Junior Games Developer
  • Junior Software Developer

As part of the T-Level course students take part in a 10-week placement in businesses in the area. This will provide them with further employment skills and experience to ensure excellent career progression and/or Higher Education opportunities.

All T-Level students will be proficient in coding in at least four programming languages (including Java, Python and HTML/CSS), digital business practice and cybersecurity.

Further development of the Computing and Robotics Centre at Ferndown Upper School is planned to support the course delivery. This includes a new T-Level Conference Centre and an additional purpose-built software engineering lab.
