Northern Ireland

Welcome to CAS Regional Centre Northern Ireland

The CAS Regional Centre for Northern Ireland is based at Stranmillis University College in Belfast. Staff members Irene Bell and Ann O'Neill have worked to create awareness of the importance of computing to our pupils and develop a collegiate network between industry, education and government.

This year our Annual Conference will take place on Friday June 22nd 2018. We are delighted that Shahneila Saeed, Head of Education and Programme Director for Digital Schoolhouse, UKie, will be delivering the Keynote advising us how to "Hack the Playground with Computational Thinking". Shahneila will also be demonstrating how to use guided exploration and play based learning to develop students' creative computational thinking skills.

We also have a very exciting range of workshops including, Building Games with Construct 3, VIRTUAL REALity and online safety, using Swift playgrounds in coding and not to forget our up skilling events in Scratch and Python.
