Authentication of learners’ work Report (March 2021) – This information sheet outlines what we have gleaned about how to authenticate the information we are getting back from learners. It addresses some of the issues of how teachers can be sure that the work carried out by learners outside of the classroom is the work of the learner.

Assessing Computational Thinking - presentation by Cynthia Selby

Computational Thinking - a guide for teachers arising from the Assessment working group discussion 2015 - This guide aims to help develop a shared understanding of the teaching of computational thinking in schools. It presents a conceptual framework of computational thinking, describes pedagogic approaches for teaching and offers guides for assessment.

Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) and formative assessment - This resource outlines the work on formative assessment in emergency remote teaching. This work was undertaken by members of the CAS Assessment working group and CAS Research working group.

Inclusion: Inclusive practice in assessment of computing - These resources represent the combination of professional experience and academic research; in their construction, the Assessment Working Group paid particular attention to the vocabulary used with the intention of vocabulary.

Quantum: diagnostic questions for computing - The Quantum Project is a CAS development over the last four years or so to develop a bank of online multiple choice questions from teachers and others, now hosted on the Eedi / Diagnostic Questions platforms with over 11,000 items.

Transition: Year 6 to Key Stage 3 - What are the barriers and challenges for computing at this time with learners transiting from primary to secondary school? This presentation raises the issues that are currently challenging teachers and school management.
