The South East Regional Centre is run as a collaboration between Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) and the Mathematics and Science Learning Centre (MSLC, part of Southampton Education School), offering an unrivalled combined expertise in computer science and professional development in education.
In its first year, CAS South East hosted the BBC Micro:bit Roadshows, delivered a range of professional development for teachers of Computing including an Awarding Organisation event, offered a subject knowledge enhancement programme in Computing and supported Master Teachers and Hubs in the region.
Our focus for the coming year (2016_17) is to recruit and train prospective Master Teachers who wish to apply to become a Master Teacher in April 2017. We have a training programme starting in October 2016 and are looking to recruit secondary and primary teachers. We will continue to support our existing Master Teachers, Hubs and Hub Leaders and Lead Schools, and to offer a full professional development programme including short courses, subject knowledge enhancement and conferences.
