CCEA in conjunction with Allstate NI are providing a 3 day course (Monday 18 December to Wednesday 20 December inclusive) in teacher training in C#, a high level computer programming language. The course is designed to provide teachers with the necessary skills to deliver computer programming elements of the new GCSE in Digital Technology
The course operates on a first come first served basis. CCEA is keen to encourage and support the delivery of coding skills across all schools. In the event of over-subscription, those schools that have not previously availed of the Allstate NI training in C# in June 2016 or the previous training for GCE Software Systems Development will get priority. Places will initially be allocated to one participant per school.
Allstate NI intend to provide this training again in the next academic year. Those teachers who are not allocated a place this year, will be placed on a reserve list and given preference for attending course in June 2018.
Registration is at 09.30am for a 10.00am start. Tea and coffee will be provided upon arrival each day at 09.30am with refreshments and a light lunch being served at lunchtime. A finishing time of 16.30pm is expected.
The deadline for registering your interest is Friday 10 November at 12.00pm. Go to: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ccea-teacher-upskilling-course-with-allstate-ni-tickets-38838408726?ref=ebapi Those who have registered, will receive further notification to advise if they have been successful in receiving a confirmed place this year or if they have been placed on a reserve list for the following year.
**Please note that this course is being held in the new Queen's Computer Science building located on the Malone Road, opposite Methodist College Belfast. Due to the location, on-site car-parking facilities cannot be provided. Parking will be either off-street parking or local car parks. Due to the location of the venue, we would strongly advise attendees allow for plenty of time for car parking given busy periods around the Malone/Botanic Area**
